STEP Institute is an innovative non-profit organisation that focuses on the development of people. STEP is based in Ljubljana (Slovenia). The core of the organisation consists of a group of interdisciplinary experts, who collaborate with various trainers and external experts. STEP members are trained in the fields of psychology, economics and sociology and are therefore able to address complex challenges through an integrated approach. With project activities and training courses, the STEP team helps to bridge the gap between education and work, private and public sector, scientific approach and practical experience, start-ups and large organisations.
The STEP Institute’s mission is to empower people to develop better in the work environment through innovative methods. It helps people to discover and nurture their talents, to develop professional and soft skills (communication, emotional intelligence, stress management, growth mindset, mentoring, coaching, etc.) and to realise business ideas by developing marketable solutions. On the other hand, it helps organisations to develop their potential by involving their employees, developing new competencies with the “train-the-trainer” approach and enabling effective collaboration through group coaching sessions.
Since 2006, FACE has been involved in the development of non-formal education and training programmes and their promotion, with a focus on international cooperation. At the core of FACE’s activities are the opportunities funded by the Erasmus+ programme: transnational learning mobility carried out for a given period of time, with an educational purpose. A wide variety of projects and activities that have been implemented so far on a formal or non-formal basis are of great support to the achievement of the organisation’s strategic objectives. FACE’s educational services strive to ensure equitable access to knowledge for all: stakeholders, students and teachers, industry, government and local administration, entrepreneurs, advisory service providers, experts, governmental organisations, FACE employees and, in particular but not exclusively, members of rural communities.
FACE’s 13 years of experience and more than 40 projects have resulted in educational components and more than 120 events (training courses, seminars, round tables, workshops), based on the connection between education and research, as well as between education and the labour market, with a focus on promoting innovative solutions and applicable mechanisms.
The projects that FACE has implemented have enabled a large number of users to make use of educational services that we continuously update in order to adapt formal education programmes to the needs of the labour market.
The main areas in which FACE works are: Non-formal education – (focused on Vocational Education and Training – VET). Most of FACE’s activities emphasise the promotion of the quality of non-formal education, as well as the creation of synergies and interactions between formal, informal and non-formal learning.
